If you missed the Kings Park Festival this year, don't worry. A Perth amateur photographer who spent time in the Western Australian Botanic Garden this week shared a set of close-ups showing the wildflowers are still putting on a show, and it had other locals planning a weekend walk.
The festival's over, the flowers aren't
The 2026 Everlasting Kings Park Festival ran from 18 September to 4 October. But WA's spring wildflower season doesn't stop when the festival does. In Perth the peak is usually September and October, and many species keep flowering into November, especially those from the south of the state.

Tips for a visit
Kings Park and the Botanic Garden are free to enter. The Botanic Garden and Parks Authority runs a free guided Wildflowers and Bushland Walk from Aspects Lawn during the wildflower season. Check the BGPA website for the current schedule before you go, as times can change late in the season.
Early morning and late afternoon light is kindest for photos, and also beats the heat as Perth warms up. Stay on the paths: many of the plants are rare, and picking or trampling them isn't allowed.
