The Ngarluma people are the traditional owners of the coastal Pilbara region around Roebourne, Karratha and Dampier. The Murujuga rock art on the Burrup Peninsula contains more than a million petroglyphs and is considered one of the largest and oldest collections of rock art on Earth.
